Intermediate / Performance Service: £45 plus parts

This service is good for all bikes every 6 months to keep things running smoothly and ideally should be carried out in between Main services.

This service includes S2 Preventative Maintenance Service, plus:

  • Frame
    • Frame & Fork Safety inspection
    • Wipe Down, clear cable gear guides from debris
  • Wheels
    • Remove wheels and check bearings for wear / play
    • Remove quick release skewers, clean & lightly lubricate
    • Inspect wheel rims for damage, dents, cracks, rims worn past marker and flat braking surface
    • Check for loose spokes and tighten / true if necessary
    • Inspect valve for correct alignment and valve core for damage
    • Inspect tyres for irregular wear / cuts / damage and inflate to correct pressures.
  • Drivetrain inspection including:
    • Measure chain wear
    • Check cassette / freehub for secure fitment
    • Ensure compatible chain / cassette / chainring(s) are being used for drivetrain
    • Ensure gear levers are mounted correctly on bar and are not too stiff or loose
    • Clean and lubricate entire drivetrain
  • Brake inspection, including:
    • Brake operation – signs of uneven braking or stiff function
    • Inspect rim brake blocks & disc pads for wear and alignment
    • Inspect brake rotors for minimum thickness / signs of overheating / warped rotors.
    • Inspect hydraulic braking system for leaks
  • Cables
    • Inspect brake and gear cable housing – correct casing used, cut to correct length
    • Inspect brake & gear wire inspection – frayed or corroded, end caps fitted, smooth cable movement
    • Lubricate gear cable adjusters and ensure that they turn
  • Torque checks
    • Check the fitting of mudguards, racks and bottle cages
    • Bike Torque – checks for correct torque at crank arms, pedals, steering bolts etc.
  • Lubrication
    • Lubricate quick release bolt
  • Road test & Report
    • Road Test
    • Final report including any recommendations and advice.

Any items identified will be clearly explained and I will advise whether any work is urgent. Any extras or parts are chargeable; the service charge includes labour to replace worn parts but does not include the cost of the parts themselves. I will inform you and obtain your approval prior to replacing any parts. Alternatively, I will advise of any items to keep an eye on for the future.
